Fruit Tree Planting on the Big Island in August!
By Lizzy Rainey | Programs Manager

Aloha, and thank you for your continued support of the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation's work in Hawai'i!
Our team is gearing up for another fruit-tree-planting-bonanza as we organize the final details for our trip back to the Big Island this August. We plan to plant hundreds of trees primarily on school campuses in order to bring outdoor, edible classrooms to Hawaiian students and healthy, fresh fruit to families.
From Kona to Kohala to Hilo, your support is helping fruit trees find their forever homes at schools around the island, and creating food freedom for Hawaiians for generations to come.

Dear friends of FTPF,
Thank you for continuing to support FTPF and our work to bring food equality and food sovereignty to Hawai'i. We believe fruit trees are an essential part of creating healthier, stronger Hawaiian communities, and with every tree planted believe we are planting hope for future island generations...
He ali`i ka Aina, ha kauwa ke kanaka...
The Land is a Chief, Man is its Servant...
-Hawaiian Proverb
In this spirit, we are planning for another round of projects in August 2019 focused on Hawai'i Island schools and youth-based programs. Please consider making a donation to this project to help us make orchards a reality for these Hawaiian schools, as well as the many, many other schools and communities across Hawai'i who are waiting to participate in our programs.
Thank you for believing in the power of fruit trees to support Hawaiian communities!

2018 Annual Report
By Lizzy Rainey | Programs Manager
Thank you to everyone who donated to Help Native Hawaiians Regain Food Freedom this year! With your support, we planted over 200 fruit trees with schools, Native Hawaiian cultural groups, nonprofits and families all across the Big Island. This was the first of many plantings around Hawai'i to come that will bring locally grown organic fruit that is FREE and easily accessible to islanders that may not otherwise regularly eat healthy produce or foods.
Attached in our 2018 Annual Report, which highlights our program outputs for the year, as well as the fact that for the eighth year in a row 90 cents of every dollar was spent on our life-sustaining tree-planting programs. Please take a look, and consider contributing towards Help Native Hawaiians Regain Food Freedom before the year ends!
Have a very fruitful holiday season and a happy New Year!
