Dear Friend,
"A woman's education is the foundation of a prosperous community," as Manjubala's inspiring journey illustrates.
A resident of a rural village in southern Rajasthan, Manjubala's participation in Seva Mandir's financial and digital literacy programme has not only transformed her own life, but has also become a beacon of hope for her community. By spreading awareness and motivating other women to join the programme, she embodies the transformative power of education.
Manjubala's compassionate nature and newfound knowledge came to light when she noticed a vegetable vendor in her village always wearing a mask. Upon investigation, she discovered the heartbreaking truth - the vendor was battling mouth cancer but was unable to seek treatment due to financial constraints. Using information from the literacy programme, Manjubala directed him to government health programmes that offered free treatment.
As a result, the vegetable vendor was able to get medical help, have a successful operation and beat his disease. Today, he's a thriving entrepreneur who runs a clothes shop showing how empowerment can change lives.
Manujbala's story is a poignant reminder that when women are empowered with knowledge and opportunity, they not only lift themselves up, but entire communities, paving the way for a brighter, more prosperous future.
With your support, we hope to continue to make a small but significant difference in the lives of less privileged women in South Rajasthan.
We are happy to share that we are participating in GlobalGiving's April 2024 Little by Little campaign. During Campaign from 8th to 12th April, all eligible donations up to $50 will be matched at 50%. Therefore, matching donations will make every contribution count even more, helping us reach even more underprivileged women.
With $15, you can support the training of rural and tribal women to effectively manage loans, keep saving records, and mobilize financial resources in order to build small business. We hope you'll consider extending your generous support once again.
Your Sincerely,
Ronak Shah
Chief Executive
