'Your bursary support has helped children from affected families remain in school despite the loss of their loved ones. Families received support that helped reduce the financial burden of education following the tragedy.
Children have been able to continue learning, providing stability and a sense of normalcy during the healing process.
Families Express Their Gratitude
In November 2025, during the opening ceremony of the Living Hope Emergency and Trauma Centre, families gathered to remember their loved ones and reflect on the journey of healing that has followed the tragedy.
Rachel was their representative and she received a special welcome from Brighter Communities Worldwide CEO, Director and staff along with the Irish Ambassador to Kenya, Caroline Ingoldsby and H.E. Dr. Erick Mutai, Governor Kericho County. She spoke on behalf of the affected families and expressed their deep appreciation for the support that has helped their children continue their education.
Rachel said “Your support did not end with words. You reached out and walked with our children. Because of the bursary support, they have been able to stay in school and continue building their future even amid loss. For that, we are deeply grateful.”
For many families, education has become a powerful source of hope. Ensuring that their children can continue learning has provided reassurance that, despite the tragedy, the future still holds opportunities.
While the opening of the trauma centre marked an important step in strengthening emergency healthcare services in the community, the bursary programme represents another form of healing; protecting the future of children who were directly affected by the tragedy.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all donors who continue to support this project through GlobalGiving. Your generosity is helping children remain in school, supporting families during a difficult time, and ensuring that hope continues to grow even in the face of loss.
Together, we are helping these children continue their education and build brighter futures.
Thank You to all our Supporters.
