World of Children Honors Smiles Forever

The most exciting news this fall is that Smiles Forever has been selected by World of Children for Honors. Some compare this recognition as equivalent to winning a Nobel Prize for children. For our treasured supporters, there are two events to celebrate this wonderful prize. The official World of Children Ceremony in New York on November 1st, or join us in Seattle for Noche del Gaucho held at the Queen City Yacht Club on Saturday evening October 20th.

Health Award Honoree

In 1999, Dental Hygienist Sandy Kemper traveled to Bolivia on a humanitarian trip to help staff a dental clinic for homeless children. It was a trip that changed her life.

Nearly 20 years later, she's still traveling to Bolivia, and her mission is bigger than ever.

Sandy founded Smiles Forever in Cochabamba, Bolivia with one thought: dental hygiene can save lives. Her program has provided free preventative and restorative dentistry and nutritional education to more than 37,000 children, greatly reducing conditions such as life-threatening abscesses, painful cavities, malnutrition, poor self-esteem and infrequent school attendance.

A donation of $50 provides a full dental treatment including an exam, cleaning, x-rays and one root canal for a child in need.
