Progress Made... Still Some Ways To Go!

By Alian Ollivierre | Project Leader

We are on our way, and have been making strides with our project, and we firstly must say thank you to all of you who have contributed.

We have been able to introduce parts of our programmes for 2018, thus far, and ensure we keep at least 15 vulnerable girls in Barbados sustained over the past two (2) months.  However, of course there is so much more that can be done, and way more girls that can be served... all it takes is a bit of encouragement to your peers, colleagues, friends, and families.

This year we have exposed the girls to friends and sisters from across the United States; i.e. building cross borders linkages that allow for development in understanding new cultures, and are working to build growth within our network, that allows our girls to never feel behind others.

What's Next?

50 MORE WORKSHOP: On International Women's Day we will be bridging the gap between gender disparity and gender equity by executing a youth workshop on leadership and ambassadorship, which will focus on generating hearty discussions on sustainable progression for Barbados and the Caribbean.  Youth are at the forefront of development in any country, and we desire to see them seeing 50 years ahead, and how they as youth will work towards shaping a country, region and world we all would like to see.

GENERATION Y: We will be executing our annual four (4) day sleep in Easter Retreat, and are currently preparing to execute a dynamic long weekend of building sisterhood, developing mindsets, and aiding with mental stability that transcends in to adulthood.  This is one of our more impactful segments yearly, as our girls enjoy the safe space created to truly learn, share and express their passions, while gaining much needed advice and guidance.

To Conclude:

When we think of mentorship, building capacity and mental health development, we amount that to knowing that youth need us all, and we are right here for them.  With your contributions we are able to be more consistent and active with our girls, and are better able to serve those who truly need, which is all we care about.

Thank you once again, and stay blessed always!
