Through its “Hora Segura” program, Fundación Todo Mejora has been selected for the 2025 Human Rights Tulip Award, the highest recognition granted by the Government of the Netherlands to individuals and organizations that defend and promote human rights globally. This is the first time a Chilean organization has received this recognition, and it will represent Chile at the final ceremony, which will take place in a week in The Hague.
During this international event, Fundación Todo Mejora will participate alongside nine other human rights defenders from Colombia, Sudan, Somalia, Lebanon, the Palestinian Territories, Hungary, Ukraine, Bangladesh, and Indonesia. The program will include spaces for exchange, training, and collaboration, culminating in a ceremony at which the main prize of €50,000 will be awarded. The other finalists will receive a €5,000 recognition to strengthen their human rights initiatives in their respective countries.
The Hora Segura app, developed by Fundación Todo Mejora, has become a leading resource in suicide prevention and emotional support for LGBTIQA+ children, teenagers, and youth. This innovative tool offers immediate support, accompaniment, and guidance in times of crisis, fostering safe, prejudice-free environments. The foundation’s participation in the Tulip Human Rights international program will make it possible to expand the reach of Safe Hour, exchange experiences with other human rights defenders, and strengthen its mission to create support spaces for those who need it most.
With this recognition, Fundación Todo Mejora reinforces its commitment to ensuring that no LGBTIQA+ child, teenager, or young person grows up in loneliness, discrimination, or violence, and to continue bringing the voice of Chile and its LGBTIQA+ youth to the international stage.
