Introduction
With most children in South Africa lacking access to education in general, it becomes hard for teachers and families to prioritize safe and educated sports activities, as they are barely receiving school books. Due to the lack of funding most rural or informal schools don't have sports equipment, proper infrastructure or playgrounds. Without safe outdoor activities at a young age, children are at risk of poor health as well as putting themselves in danger when they play in unsupervised areas.
Report
This last quarter we purchased 5 footballs and 1 cricket set for our after school project in South Africa.
We aim to fundraise £6,000 to cover the cost of installing a football field at our local school. It will be fenced off to protect the area but will also be open to the community and school 7 days a week. We need to install irrigation systems this is why it is expensive
