Dear Supporters.
Unfortunately we are still a very long way off our target. Every day the children play football on a dust pitch and it really is the highlight of their day. The joy the game brings the children is incredible and we know that this also helps mental health, child fitness and helps stimulate the brain so children are more open to learning in the classroom.
Sport really does have so many benefits but the negative side is the amount of injuries that lead to the children then missing their education as they have fallen over on a hard dust pitch so our mission for a grass pitch is essential to help keep children learning and safe.
It's going to cost £6,000 for the field and while this seems expensive, imagine converting a dusty pitch in a township into a quality grass pitch, its not an easy task. We will begin with bringing in top soil then planting the grass seeds, installing an irrigation system with borehole water and then fencing off the pitch to ensure it stays protected and looked after.
People in the township find it hard to imagine this is a possibility but with your support we can do it and see a community be transformed through sport!
We will never give up, we will continue to fundraise until we hit our target and then we will build this new pitch for the children and the community in South Africa.
Join Us as we transform the future
Thanks,
John
