November and December 2021 Report

Happy New Year!

During November and December, we made giant strides in making a difference to many lives, thanks to the generous donations that kept pouring in during the season of giving. We are also extremely grateful for all the support that we received throughout the year because of which we were able to touch more than 8000 animals in 2021. The year ended very strong with these amazing statistics of what we were able to achieve together along with you!

The highlight of these two months has been the significant number of special surgeries we were able to do and the miraculous transformation stories that resulted from those. The stories of Tulip and Noah stand testimony to the incredible grit and tenacity with which animals face adversity and emerge stronger. We also had several successful adoptions, each of which is a heart-warming story in itself. The one that stands out is that of Cherry - one of the 6 pups abandoned mercilessly outside our shelter.

Tulip was brought to us in excruciating pain due to her injured legs, a wound on the dorsal side, and to top it all, she was also suffering from a transmissible venereal tumour. The injury on the legs was so severe that amputation was the only option. She was also subjected to chemotherapy sessions for the tumor. Tulip was in pain after the surgery, but with time, she grew stronger than ever, with a strong will to live. To our surprise, she didn't drag herself; instead, she stood on two legs and walked, then ran!

Found tied to a tree and in deperate need of help, Noah was rescued with a horribly broken jaw with blood all over him. He underwent mandibular reconstruction surgery with a lengthy post-operative period, during which he was fed a liquid diet. As his jaw started to heal, he made slow but steady progress and was gradually able to return to normal food. Despite the trauma he had doubtess endured, Noah's spirit remained unbroken and his love and trust towards humans, intact. Vaccinated and neutered, Noah was adopted by his rescuer and our joy knew no bounds.

Cherry found a happy home and loving family in the pristine farm of Anaikkatti where she is smothered with love and attention and also has a few canine siblings for company. We couldn't have asked for a better life for her!

Rescues and rehabilitation like these are possible only because of your unstinting support. Your $100 donation covers the treatment and care of one rescue pet for a whole month. However, no amount is too small when it comes to making a difference to precious lives. Our deep appreciation to your sustained commitment to the cause. Kindly continue to support us.
