September and October 2022 Update on the Sanctuary

Blind Pet Whitey - From Hurt to Healed
Blind Pet Whitey - From Hurt to Healed

The months of September and October went like a breeze with activities packed to the brim. While the highlight of September was the mass vaccination drives conducted on the auspices of the World Rabies Day, October saw a series of heart-warming adoptions where some of our sanctuay residents found their permanent homes and happy families.  During the past two months, we accomplished over 500 spay/neuter surgeries, rescued over 70 animals, treated over 600 community animals as out-patients, and vaccinated over 1200 pets!

Marley was rescued with a massive tumour weighing him down. Owing to the critical state of his health, the infected and ulcerated tumour was surgically removed. Post surgery, he was under our care for several weeks where our team constantly monitored him. Having made a full recovery, Marley has now been reunited with his buddies.

The last week of September was dedicated towards creating awareness around Rabies and vaccinating as many street dogs as possible. More than 500 dogs were vaccinated and mass awareness created in line with the theme of One Health, Zero deaths.

Sara was rescued after she was found struggling to give birth on the harsh streets. She was suffering from dystocia that needed an emergency surgery to save her life as well as that of her pups. One of the pups sadly passed away, but the rest were saved and so was Sara. She was spayed and returned to her community along with the pups.

Max's case was nothing short of a miracle after what he went through. A victim of animal abuse, he was found with his legs tied in a pile of garbage. The beautiful soul blossomed with the love and care bestowed on him and after a few weeks of intensive care, he recovered completely and even found his way to the home and hearts of a wonderful family.

Rescues like these are made possible only by your kind support. While your recurring monthly donations go towards the sponsorship of the permanent residents of our sanctuary, a one time donation of any amount makes all the difference to the life of a rescue pet. Your $50 donation covers the entire cost of care and treatment of a permanent rescue pet for a whole month. We deeply appreciate your compassion and kindness. Thank you for being our pillar of support!
