March and April 2023 Update for the HAS Sanctuary

17 Years of Service to Animals of Coimbatore
17 Years of Service to Animals of Coimbatore

March and April are the hottest months in the city of Coimbatore in the southern part of India where we live. As temperatures soared, we geared up to keep the animals hydrated and ensured that they were kept in shade, away from the scorching heat. Thanks to your support, all our animals stayed safe in the midst of the hectic schedules that we found ourselves in.

The highlight of this period was our 17th anniversary on April 06th and we have a lot to feel proud of. Our healing touch has impacted over 90000 animals since inception in 2006 and that has been made possible only because of the unstinting support we continue to receive from all over the globe. We are humbled by the tremendous faith placed upon us by all our wonderful donors and well wishers.

The most heartwarming story this period is that of Goku who was rescued with a severly damaged eye—the result of a nasty accident. The timely support we received enabled the enucleation surgery that he underwent successfully. Goku demonstrated tenacity and resilience during the entire period of post-operative care and was released successfully back to his territory. Nakshatran was rescued as a pup with a fractured limb who went on to make a full recovery and is now waiting for his forever home. The adoption story of tri-pawd Mia is another fairy-tale where she endeared herself to a lovely family that whisked her away to their home!

There are currently more than 100 animals living in our Sanctuary including several paralysed wheel chair residents for whom this is most likley their permanent home. Setting up a regular donation allows us to continue caring for them, fulfill their medical needs, and ensure that they live happy and fulfilled lives for as long as they need. Please continue to support us in our quest towards a world where no animal has to face unnecessary suffering. Your $50 donation sponsors a permanent resident for a whole month. No amount is too small when it comes to making a difference to precious lives. Our extreme gratitude to your unstinting commitment to the cause. Thanks for this wonderful partnership!
