May and June 2023 Report of the HAS Sanctuary

Happy Family Adopts Rufus
Happy Family Adopts Rufus

May and June cooled us down with the mercury levels dipping, much to the relief of our rescue pets. We were blessed by a few showers too. These two months however saw a huge rise in the number of rescues that we had to handle. Thankfully, with your support we got sufficient funds for their care and maintenance and we cannot be more grateful. We also accomplished several fairytale adoptions. In this edition, we would love to share some of the heartwarming stories of rescue and adoption and how your donations were put to work for the wellbeing of the more than 100 animals under our care today.

Rufus was roaming on the streets, most likely abandoned with his collar missing. We searched around for a few days and none claimed him. A gentle giant, he needed a forever home to thrive. Having got his health check-up done, neutered and vaccinated, the quest for his forever home began. It was truly a fairy-tale ending when an amazing family with a 8-year old came along and fell head over heels in love with gentle Rufus. Stories like this is made possible only because of your support.

Amora, a 3 month old pup was rescued, distressed and helpeless, with a hernia and suffering from bloody urine. Her pelvis was fractured, most likely the result of a road traffic accident. Her recovery though was nothing short of magical as she rebounded with renewed vigor with the intensive care and treatment as well as the nourishing food and adequate cage-rest we were able to provide. She spent over a month with us to get fully healed and being a charmer made her way to the lap of a loving family that was happy to scoop her up and make her their own!

This period we also started a collaboration with Team Pawga—a new concept where Yoga meets Pets. Needless to state that this was a resounding success, as most of the participants enjoyed the company of the pets while practising Yoga. We hope this will spark renewed interest in giving visibility to Indie pets and encouraging their adoptions.

We request your continued support as we march forward, with a firm determination to do more for the animals in need. Your $50 donation sponsors the treatment and care of one rescue pet for a whole month! Thank you for making a difference—one paw at a time!!
