Collaborative approach to education

By Ghana Team | Ghana Project team

Thank you for your continued support for our project.

Our team works in a range of ways to support issues of gender equity and healthcare in Ghana.  Education is a key to addressing issues and it is important to us to work closely with our community partners to ensure any program meets the needs of the community where we work.

One of the ways this project supports gender equity and welfare of the community is to support student learning. We work with partner schools to support children's learning through small group and one on one support. We focus on the children who need additional support.  This additional support can lead to increased confidence, expanded learning and recognition of strengths and interests. It helps children to be able to reach curriculum standards.

We also support students by facilitating a range of welfare-related education opportunities. These include topics such as online safety, building healthy relationships,  leadership, wellbeing awareness and education related to specific health issues such as malaria awareness.  This year we have run over 100 workshops on health topics for community members with more than 400 people accessing these workshops. Your donations support the purchasing and development of resources we use to run these learning programs.

Our project also focusses on training for teachers. The teachers have fantastic skils and knowledge, this can be exapnded and reinforced through regular skills update sessions.  For example it's important to practice First Aid skills regularly and our programs can help facilitate this. These skills can suport the wider community.

To all our partners, friends and donors who make this possible, we are grateful for your continued support.  The resources we are able to provide to support learning in the areas of gender equality, public health and welfare  are valued. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
