Dear Friend of Guardians,
It's a sad fact that there are many dogs stuck outside, 24/7, and many of those are chained and miserable.
When Guardians is alerted to a dog or dogs like this, we go to the dog's guardians to persuade them to take one of several courses of action—bring the dog inside as a true family member, surrender the dog to us for careful rehoming, or allow us to build a secure kennel or run, containing a custom-made insulated doghouse, often with a special heating pad. If the guardian resists that due to the energy costs, we pay for that too. We'd rather they be inside, but this is much better, and if we get a chance to do more later, we do.
The past 3 months have been no exception, and our team of builder-installers has rushed to get as many vulnerable dogs in out of the bitter temperatures and rain and snow. Check out the photos of the work and the results.
This is something that we do all the time, but that is not all—
Part of our mission to help dogs, something we do regularly, is to distribute dog food, dog beds, and many other dog supplies to low-income areas so that the dogs' guardians can do a better job of caretaking their companion animals. If you could see the looks and hugs of appreciation, you'd know how important this is, and how your donations uplift both dogs and humans at the same time.
We've included photos of this type of recent outreach in Philadelphia, PA, a city with many residents in need of assistance with their dogs. Because of the support of people like you, many, many dogs in this area are far better off than they would be without your caring.
Guardians of Rescue has a motto, and we say it often—"Together we Save Them". It's a reminder and an acknowledgement that an organization that is not huge can accomplish big things for animals only if many other caring people agree that animals deserve more, and show that in a concrete way.
You are one of those people, and we never forget that.
Can we say it one more time?—
Together we save them,
All of Us at Guardians of Rescue
