Happy September! As a new school year begins, we would like to share some statistics about the importance of environmental education and the benefits it can have for both students and the Earth. At Women for Conservation, environmental education is a foundational pillar of our work. We believe that providing environmental education is like planting a seed which sprouts into a soaring, graceful tree of care and respect. It has the power to nurture deep connections with the planet and inspire environmentally conscious actions in everyday life.
Stanford researchers performed a review of 105 scientific studies on environmental education and its impacts on student’s behavior. Here are some of the things they found:
