Dear GlobalGiving Community,
We are happy to announce that this project has been completed! Thanks to your support, students at 12 schools around Nepal’s most precious nature reserves have received life-changing scholarships, giving them the tools to finish their studies and pursue their dreams.
At Women for Conservation, we believe that education is a key tool for conservation. Through education, we inspire the next generation of conservation leaders and we build deeper connections between humans and nature: a necessary step towards real change in the way we interact with our planet.
Achievements:
Over the course of this project, we provided 50 scholarships to young Nepali students in low-income and high-biodiversity areas. These scholarships helped cover school fees and materials, relieving pressure on the student’s families while giving students the power to pursue livelihoods. Education fights poverty; through these scholarships, we are turning the tide in rural Nepal.
To promote conservation in schools, we organized green clubs. Students learned more about the importance of protecting our environment and were empowered to take on leadership roles in their communities, driving school-wide change.
We also organized other extracurricular activities such as tree plantings and birding trips so that students could get to know native biodiversity while helping to protect it. These activities contributed to restoration of native habitats for species like the Ibisbill, the Crimson Sunbird, the Collared Owl, and the Oriental Pied Hornbill.
Thank you
Through your donations, you have helped create a lasting impact on young students in rural Nepal, bringing hope and dignity to the entire community. Every child has the right to an education. Thank you for helping us ensure that they can access this transformational right. Warmly,
