Hello valued supporters!
We are well into the sixth year of this very special education program that allows high school students to conduct real scientific research and submit a research paper graded by the Ministry of Education.
This year 10 students were accepted to the program from various high schools in Jerusalem and the surrounding area.
The introduction period included ten lectures and zoo tours (including a special night-time tour) with senior members of staff (all qualified at PhD level) to gain an understanding of each department within the zoo; and to provide students with enough background to decide on their chosen research topics.
Students are now working on preparing research proposals for the approval of the Ministry of Education. Once this process has been completed, their research proper can begin. Research will include observations and experiments and the final research papers will need to be submitted to the Ministry of Education for grading towards the end of 2016. We are looking forward to the results of their efforts!
Your generous support enables students like these to realize their potential and to live their dreams. Thank you!
