Hello valued supporters!
This week we opened the seventh year of this special high school scientific research program with 14 students from several schools in and around Jerusalem.
The opening lecture was delivered by our Aquarium Education Director, Shai Ben-Ami, who spoke about the history of zoos and their role in scientific research and education. The students then toured the Zoo during which they were introduced to the various wildlife conservation programs, as well as to the concepts of community education and animal welfare.
During the coming months, this group of students will attend lectures and tours of each of the Zoo’s departments by senior zoo staff members; decide on their research topics; and plan their research schedules. Each student’s scientific research will be supervised by a staff member qualified at PhD level. Wishing all of our students a happy and successful year!
Your generous support enables students like these to realize their potential and to live their dreams. Thank you!
