This year, 640 students participated in our after-school health clubs, plus 32 volunteer club leaders. One of our main topics during after-school health clubs was menstrual health. We conducted our ongoing trainings to teach all club members (boys and girls) to make reusable menstrual pads (RUMPs) to help keep girls in school.
How do we reach the 9,000 students in our schools with health education when our after-school clubs have just 640 members? By investing in Peer Educators—student club members who inspire and educate their classmates outside of health clubs.
We led a workshop to train 63 new Peer Educators, alongside health club teachers and village health workers. Together, this super-team is ready to spark conversations, share knowledge, and guide students in making informed, healthy choices.
To boost their visibility as a resource for students, our health team also designed posters featuring Peer Educators’ photos—so every student knows who they can turn to for health information, guidance, or support. Proud to see these young leaders stepping up for healthier schools!
