Thanks to generous donors, we have some start-up funds for buying a computer and helping girls to create their own books. We still need more help if we're going to be able to purchase a computer. The goals of the project is to train local high school girls in the town of Houndé in computer literacy and have them collaborate with local storytellers and health clinic staff to produce books in French and local language. The topics of the books will target girls and women and be both fiction and non-fiction. The girls will gain valuable computer and writing skills. The books will be distributed to village libraries in the Houndé area, and will be used by librarians to organize literacy activities for local woman.
