Nepal Faces Devastating Floods — Small World Communities Stand Strong
Dear Friends and Supporters, Namaste !You may have seen or heard on the news and social media about the recent heavy rains in Nepal, which tragically claimed over 60 livesand displaced more than 6,500 families. Major roads connecting Kathmandu to rural communities have been cut off, making rescue and relief efforts extremely challenging.
Amid this tragedy, we are witnessing hope, courage, and leadership — the very change you helped create.
Thanks to your support of education, women’s empowerment, and the Seeds of Hope agriculture program, The Small World has educated and empowered local leaders — strong women and girls who take care of their families, their communities, and the children around them.
Your Support in Action
Girls’ Higher Education: Over 500 girls have graduated from our program, and more than 150 girls are currently studying at universities across Nepal. Many of these young women volunteers are actively supporting vulnerable families and children. Because they are educated, they are raising awareness of the situation — sharing updates on social media and WhatsApp groups, contacting local government and police, and raising their voices for help. We are incredibly proud of their leadership.
Seeds of Hope Agriculture Program: This women-led program has supported over 1,200 women by providing training, quality seeds, greenhouses, and forming strong groups. During disasters, these women don’t just survive — they respond immediately, helping their communities, keeping children healthy, and providing nutritious food.
Children’s Safety: All children under our care — at Arhaus Children’s Home in Solukhumbu-Everest region, Himalayan Hope Home in Kathmandu, and the community schools we support — are safe and well cared for, with special attention to clean water, hygiene, and health precautions.
Your Impact is Growing
Your investment has built more than projects — it has built changemakers and advocates who can respond, raise their voice, care, and lead, even in the most challenging times. Because of your support, communities are resilient, empowered, and hopeful.
Every gift, every act of support— helps us reach more families when they need it most.
