Dear GlobalGiving Supporters,
‘My aim is to pursue a career in sports’
Aarti is a resident of Dhokmod village and her parents are farmers. The financial situation of her house is average. Ever since the Mann Deshi Champions bus visited her village, she started coming to the Mann Deshi Sports Complex to practice. There is no bus in her village. From her village, she had to walk about 3 to 3.5 km to reach the bus stop. From there, she used to come to college in Mhaswad by bus. The daily routine also involved practicing sports. Thus, she would get tired by evening. Then, she was given a bicycle by Mann Deshi Foundation. Now, she uses her bicycle to commute to college. She’s able to use it to come to the sports complex too. She’s been performing well in state-level competitions. “My aim is to pursue a career in sports,” says Aarti.
Thank you so much for all our supporters!!!

Dear GlobalGiving Supporters,
I am Achal. I am studying in SYBA. My father is working as the head clerk at a senior college, while My mother is a homemaker. I have three sisters and a brother. I am now preparing for the police recruitment test. I along with a few of my friends practice on the Mann Deshi sports ground. We came to know about this ground from my neighbour. Later, lectures for competitive exams started here. As the lectures were held in the afternoon, we had to reach the venue by walking. I live in Mhaswad and the venue is about 4-5 km from my house. In the afternoon heat, it used to be very difficult to walk. Due to the distance and a lack of transport some girls don’t go to the lectures. Later, seeing our regular attendance, Mann Deshi distributed bicycles to us. This reduced the commute time and now we don’t get tired too. Here at Mann Deshi, all the training and theoretical knowledge is provided for free including diet, shoes, kits, and books for competitive exams. I aspire to become a police officer and I am preparing well for the recruitment exam. Thank you very much Mann Deshi Foundation for providing us with all the facilities and giving us the bicycle.
Thank you so much for all our supporters!!!

Dear GlobalGiving Supporters,
‘I feel happy to go to school every day’
Dhani hails from the pardhi community and is from the Karnataka state. She resides with her family at Kewatevasti, Mhaswad. Her parents sell lemon and chilies and also work as daily-wage laborers and stone-breaking work. Dhani has two sisters and three brothers. Her sisters also help the parents by selling lemons & chilies. As the people of this community do not stay in one place for long, they get deprived of proper education and other government scheme benefits. They do not have a ration card, voter ID card, etc. Mann Deshi felt that these children should be brought into the mainstream of society and be given their due. We met Dhani and asked her to visit Mann Deshi’s sports ground for practicing running. On the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8, 2022, Dhani and her sister Sakina were given bicycles to come and practice on the field. Mann Deshi Champions also took the initiative of enrolling Dhani and her siblings at the Zilla Parishad School Mhaswad so that they are not deprived of education. Now, Dhani and her siblings go to school every day. “My siblings and myself go to school every day now and we are happy,” says Dhani.
Thank you so much for all our supporters !!!
