The Freedom on Wheels initiative by the Mann Deshi Foundation provides bicycles to young girls from rural areas, empowering them with the freedom to attend school regularly, improve their academic performance, and chase their dreams. By reducing the physical burden of long daily commutes, the programme ensures that these girls have a chance at education and a brighter future. With each bicycle, Mann Deshi is giving wings to the dreams of countless young girls, helping them overcome adversity and strive for success.
Rasika's Story
Rasika, a 14-year-old girl from Narbawadi village, has faced immense challenges in her young life. Having lost both her parents, Rasika lives with her grandmother while her brother resides in their father’s house. Her school is 4 kilometers away, and with her fragile health and malnourishment, carrying her backpack and making the daily walk is extremely difficult. Despite her teacher's support in leaving her backpack at school, she struggles to reach school on time, causing her to fall behind in her studies. Rasika believes that receiving a bicycle from the Mann Deshi Foundation will help her not only attend school regularly but also secure a better future for herself and her brother.
Ragini's Story
Ragini is a 10th grader with big dreams of supporting her family. Living with her sisters at her maternal uncle's house due to family conflicts, Ragini’s mother works hard at the Mann Deshi Foundation and takes on household work to support her children’s education. Ragini dreams of completing her education and helping her mother and sisters. Receiving a bicycle from Mann Deshi has made a significant difference in her life. Now, she reaches school on time, focuses on her studies, and even uses the bicycle for other errands. The bicycle is more than just transportation for Ragini; it’s a tool for building a brighter future for her and her family.
Payal's Story
Payal, a 9th grader, lives with her parents and younger brother near Khadakodha. Her school is 3 kilometers away, and she and her brother walk the long distance each day. Payal aspires to become an IPS officer and is determined to make her family and village proud. Receiving a bicycle would help her save time on her daily commute, allowing her to dedicate more hours to her studies and work toward her dreams. Payal is filled with gratitude toward the Mann Deshi Foundation for giving her the opportunity to accelerate her education and achieve her goals.
