The school year in Angola runs from February through November. For those fortunate kids who are attending class, they will soon be on break. However, there are many whose lives will remain the same because they have no school to attend. We are working to change that - with a commitment to give 24,000 MORE kids access to education by the end of 2020.
Educate A Child has partnered with RISE to co-fund the building of approximately 25 schools in Angola. Three schools have been dedicated and over 4400 students are in new classrooms learning. Construction of four more schools will be completed by February 2019 and ready for enrollment to begin for approximately 2600 students in those new schools. In addition, construction on two more schools has just begun - they will be dedicated and open next spring.
We thank you for your part in making a difference in the lives of the kids who will get to attend school, many for the first time. Education is the right of every child and we continue to work to give the children of Angola the opportunity for education.
RISE is celebrating 15 years of building schools in Angola. Our annual fall benefit will be held on Saturday, October 20, highlighting the ripple effect of education in the lives of the children, their families and communities. All are welcome - visit our website to register.
