Give 1000 Rural Children an English Education

Today, on a hot summer day in rural China, we welcome you into a classroom filled with hope, passion, ambition, and opportunity.

What you see in these photos are diligent children, devoted parents, and a teacher deeply dedicated to helping unlock doors for the next generation. Looking at the students, you won't see tiredness. Instead, they look eager, focused, and hopeful—knowing that each sound they learn is the sound of opportunity.

Mastering the Foundation of Literacy

The students are currently learning the 48 sounds of the English language through the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) and phonics. This specialized training is the absolute foundation for mastering literacy and building a better future.

Many of these parents and children traveled immense distances from remote villages just to attend this school. Resources are scarce, but we have the true essentials:

• A whiteboard and a safe classroom environment.

• The irreplaceable knowledge and skills of Chang McCarthy, who has dedicated her life to education in rural China.

• This is the only school serving the entire area that is capable of teaching this transformative curriculum.

Knowledge That Spreads Like Gossip

In a beautiful twist, the parents don't just sit in the back to track their children's progress—they join the class to learn, too. They want to ensure this education spreads even further into their home villages. We love to say that useful knowledge is like gossip: once it takes root, it spreads rapidly from neighbor to neighbor, making its final impact even more powerful.

This summer English programme will have impacted hundreds of students in Rural Liaoning Province, many living in very remote areas with little access to quality educational resources.
