Providing Fuel for Homeless Families

By Kris Salas | Executive Director

Thanks to our donors, Fuel Relief Fund has advanced towards its goal of purchasing and donating 2,500 gallons of fuel. We've recently teamed up with Path of Life Ministries located here in Riverside, California by hand delivering 25 fuel cards to help support their mission. Path of Life provides homeless, health, youth and ministries services to the greater Riverside challenged population. Our primary rationale as to why Path of Life is deserving of our donors funds is attributed to the restoring and rebuilding process that comes along with Path of Life's assistance.

"The lack of affordable and available transportation often make it extremely difficult for struggling local families to make progress in their efforts toward stability and self-sufficiency.  Families in this situation with vehicles and low-wage employment often find themselves at risk of losing their employment for lack of fuel funds, which are often consumed by other emergency needs.

Recently, after meeting with Path of Life’s Vice President of Operations – Damien O’Farrell - the Executive Director of Fuel Relief Fund – Kris Salas - pledged a generous donation of $500 in emergency gas cards to Path of Life Ministries for homeless participants in their programs.  This gives Path of Life a unique opportunity to further provide emergency assistance for families while helping them move forward in providing for their families and addressing more long term issues that are contributing to their homelessness." --Damien O'Farrell (Path of Life's Vice President of Operations)
