Celebrating a decade of impact in Australia's largest state!

A decade ago,Teach For Australia made history. In a landmark partnership with the Government of Western Australia and with the support of philanthropy, we launched WA's first-ever employment-based pathway placing high-achieving teachers in schools experiencing disadvantage across metropolitan, regional, remote and rural areas.

In the last week of October, beautifully close to the Australian celebration for World teachers' Day, we came together to celebrate this incredible milestone, inviting our partners to help us expand our reach and deepen our impact in the state.

Thank you to Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education, Emily Hamilton MLA, who spoke on behalf of Sabine Winton MLA and WA Premier, Roger Cook. We heard insights from a panel of TFA Alumni, who's work in the remote areas of Western Australia is challenging, rewarding and joyful all at once; and we got raw honesty from some students, who described the on-the-ground impact that Teach For Australia teachers have made to them in their schooling, and lives.

For additional context, Western Australia is larger than the combined size of Bolivia, Cuba, Germany and Nepal! There are schools in this state which are a 33 hour drive from the state's capital city!

We're proud to keep advancing educational equity across Australia - because every child deserves a great education. In order to achieve this vision, we must combine our efforts, expertise, resources and our unwavering commitment to our moral purpose.

We cannot do this work alone, so we thank you for your support in it!
