People with albinism often have poor eyesight, and in rural areas, they lack access to eye care or eyeglasses. Without help, their vision problems make education, work, and daily life more difficult. This project will provide 500 prescription eyeglasses to rural people with albinism, helping them see clearly and participate more fully in school, work, and community life.
People with albinism often suffer from low vision and sensitivity to light. In rural areas, they are more likely to be poor and have no access to vision care. This leads to learning challenges, limited job opportunities, and isolation. Without glasses, even daily tasks become hard, worsening their exclusion and reducing quality of life.
The project will provide vision screening and prescription eyeglasses to 500 rural people with albinism. Outreach teams will visit rural areas, conduct eye tests, and give each person a pair of glasses suited to their needs. The project will also provide simple care tips and protective cases to help people keep using the glasses longer.
With proper eyeglasses, people with albinism will be better able to learn in school, take up jobs, and manage daily life independently. Good vision reduces isolation and increases participation in community life. This project will help reduce avoidable barriers for a group often left out of basic services, leading to long-term benefits in education and livelihood.
