Quarterly Report

Project Title: She Matters – Support 500 Nigerian Damsels with Pads

Project ID: 54356

Reporting Period: [Insert current quarter, e.g., April – June 2025]

Submitted by: Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation (SOHF)

Introduction

Access to menstrual hygiene products remains a fundamental challenge affecting girls’ education, health, dignity, and well-being in underserved regions of Nigeria. The "She Matters" initiative continues to advocate for the rights and health of young women and girls by working towards the distribution of free sanitary pads, alongside education on menstrual hygiene management (MHM).

Key Updates This Quarter

1. Strategic AI Partnership for Empowerment

A major development this quarter is our collaboration with the Isidore CompetitivAI Avatar—an advanced AI-driven initiative designed to enhance social impact and innovation within grassroots organizations. Through this partnership:

Digital awareness campaigns are being conceptualized to amplify menstrual health education across rural communities via voice, multilingual, and culturally-relevant content powered by Isidore AI.

We are integrating AI-supported data mapping and needs assessments to identify communities with the highest menstrual health vulnerability, enabling smarter, impact-driven resource allocation.

The AI platform will also assist in monitoring and evaluation through real-time feedback collection and sentiment analysis from beneficiaries and field agents.

This collaboration significantly boosts our capacity for scale, precision, and sustainable engagement, aligning with our long-term vision for gender justice and inclusive health equity.

Project Goals (Reaffirmed)

Distribute free sanitary pads to 500 vulnerable girls and women across rural and marginalized communities.

Conduct awareness campaigns to destigmatize menstruation and promote menstrual health education.

Encourage girls’ school retention and women’s participation in economic and social activities during menstruation.

Current Status

While full funding is still pending, groundwork continues:

Beneficiary Mapping: We have updated our community outreach list using AI-enhanced tools.

Stakeholder Engagement: New community-based organizations and local schools have signed on to support distribution and awareness once resources are available.

Resource Mobilization: Ongoing efforts include proposal submissions and crowdfunding outreach, targeting donors committed to gender equity and women’s health.

Emerging Challenges

Cultural resistance to open dialogue around menstruation persists, requiring more strategic advocacy and trust-building.

Inflation and price volatility have impacted the cost of sanitary pads, underscoring the need for bulk partnerships and possibly exploring reusable pad options.

Technology integration in rural areas has barriers, but our partnership with Isidore AI aims to provide offline-compatible learning tools.

Next Steps

1. Finalize AI-powered Awareness Toolkit: A multimedia MHM curriculum with localized languages and illustrations will be launched soon.

2. Strengthen Fundraising Drive: Host virtual donor roundtables and social media campaigns highlighting personal stories and project needs.

3. Pre-Distribution Sensitization: Conduct pilot workshops in one local government area with support from women leaders and health educators.

4. Impact Reporting Framework: Establish mobile-friendly surveys and testimonial collection points to monitor behavioral change over time.

Conclusion

“She Matters” is more than a project—it is a call to action for gender equity, youth empowerment, and menstrual dignity. With the integration of Isidore CompetitivAI Avatar, we are poised to leverage technology for transformative social change, ensuring no girl is left behind due to lack of menstrual health support.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to our volunteers, partners, and supporters. As we await funding and scale up operations, we remain committed to this mission—with renewed passion, strategy, and innovation.

With Impact and Compassion,
