A Season of Hope
A season of hope is here again. On December 2, 2025, we invite you to stand with us in compassion and action as we uplift those in urgent need.
This December 2nd, you have a billion reasons to give hope. Join the Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation to nourish families, uplift the vulnerable, and transform lives. Your kindness today becomes someone’s miracle tomorrow. Every dollar brings us closer to our goal. Together, let’s make humanity shine again.
Program Overview
She Matters is one of SOHF’s most compassionate and urgent interventions, created to address a silent but painful crisis: thousands of Nigerian girls and young women cannot afford menstrual pads.
This forces many into unhygienic practices, missed school days, embarrassment, and preventable infections.
The She Matters – Support 500 Nigerian Damsels with Pads project aims to:
Provide 500 girls with dignity kits containing sanitary pads and hygiene essentials
Promote menstrual hygiene education
Reduce school absenteeism linked to menstrual poverty
Protect girls’ confidence, dignity, and health
Quarterly Overview
This quarter has been focused on planning, strategy refinement, and mobilization.
Due to financial constraints, we were unable to carry out physical distribution or field activities.
However, the work behind the scenes has laid a strong foundation for impactful implementation in the coming months.
Key Activities This Quarter
1. Strategic Planning & Readiness
Finalized the design of the Dignity Kit contents
Developed menstrual hygiene training modules for girls and mothers
Updated procurement lists and vendor assessment for pad supply
2. Community Mapping & Engagement
Identified five communities in Southeast Nigeria with the highest menstrual poverty rates
Engaged school administrators, youth groups, and community leaders to prepare for December distribution
3. Awareness & Advocacy Preparation
Drafted menstrual hygiene advocacy materials
Prepared communications for community sensitization programs happening in December
4. Prospective Partnerships
Held initial conversations with women-led organizations, school administrators, and healthcare workers
Explored collaborations with local pad manufacturers for discounted supplies
Current Challenges
The major challenge this quarter has been limited funding, which prevented field activities. However, this challenge has strengthened our resolve to pursue a more impactful launch this coming December.
Looking Ahead: December 2025 – January 2026
We are preparing for a major rollout of the She Matters project during this festive and humanitarian season. Planned activities include:
Distribution of 500 dignity kits to girls in rural and low-income communities
Menstrual hygiene education sessions led by trained facilitators
[School-based awareness programs on menstrual health and girl-child dignity
Mother–daughter dialogues on safe menstrual practices
Partnership expansion to reach even more girls in 2026
These activities will not only meet immediate needs but will restore confidence, protect health, and keep girls in school.
Conclusion
Although this quarter did not include physical implementation, it has been a season of planning, preparation, and hope. We are ready to turn strategy into action and compassion into impact.
As we move toward December 2nd, we invite you to stand with us. Together, we can ensure that no girl misses school or loses confidence simply because she cannot afford pads.
Your support will help us restore dignity, empower young girls, and rewrite their stories with hope.
She matters. Every girl matters. Her dignity matters.
Warm regards,
Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation
