Close to bringing in 10 new children!

By Jenny Boyd | ACFA Development Associate

Great news from Mali! A Child for All has raised enough funds to start the process of bringing vulnerable children off the streets and into their new home at ACFA’s Zorokoro Children’s Complex. We are working with the proper Malian authorities to identify vulnerable children, aged 3-4, and we are assembling the staff that will care for the children at Zorokoro.

Donors like you really showed up for Giving Tuesday and the holidays -- we raised $8,985 (plus $570 in matching funds from GlobalGiving). Thank you so much for your contribution! We had a total of 62 donors, including several who became monthly donors towards this project. Thank you especially to our new donors.

We still need to raise another $3,450 to reach our goal of $13,000 before we are able to fully care for 10 new children.

Fortunately, there’s another matching opportunity coming up – from March 23 to 27 GlobalGiving's "Little by Little" campaign will match all donations up to $50 at 50%. (If you give $50, GlobalGiving gives $25, so ACFA receives $75.) Please consider maximizing your donation this way, and getting vulnerable children off the streets!

The twelve children (now teenagers) at ACFA’s Bamako Children’s Home are all doing great and are eager to meet the little ones when they arrive to Zorokoro. The Zorokoro Children’s Center is coming along nicely – the first part of the dormitory that can hosue 25 children is completely ready, and three classrooms of the school will be complete soon. Help us reach our goal so we can bring in 10 vulnerable children by summer. We are almost there and look forward to providing for all their needs, including high-quality preschool onsite.

Please consider becoming a monthly donor, and mark your calendars for the matching campaign: March 23-27.

Thank you so much for supporting vulnerable children in Mali.

Sincerely,

The ACFA team
