Thank you for your support of providing a mom in India with a sewing machine. It's such a life changing gift that helps a whole family. There are 48 women who are currently enrolled in the tailoring schools, and they will spend six months learning how to sew and stitch.
Many of these women are mothers who have struggled to find ways to support their families. Often times women living in poverty are uneducated and earn little to no wages. With a valuable skill like sewing, these mothers now have an opportunity to provide a good income for themselves and their families. Your gift is helping women like Kavya!
Kavya heard about our tailoring school and applied to be part of the program. Her family is very poor and her husband spends all of his wages drinking and gambling. She needed to help her family and Kavya said the tailoring training gave her great hope for the future.
When Kavya successfully finished her training, she got a sewing machine and was able to start supporting her family. She was so happy, and she also started to see a change in her husband's life. Right now, Kavya earns enough money to provide for her entire family.
