Rani is so happy to have a sewing machine

A sewing machine allows a woman to earn an income

Dear Friend,

Your generous gift to provide a mom in India with a sewing machine has been life-changing. Thank you for your support and for empowering women to rise out of poverty.

There are 48 women who are currently enrolled in the tailoring schools, and they will spend six months learning how to sew and stitch. After graduating from the rigorous training, they will each get their very own sewing machine so they can start their own home tailoring business.

In India, unemployment is very high, especially among women living in the rural areas. Many of these women are mothers who have struggled to find ways to support their families. Often times women living in poverty are uneducated and earn little to no wages.  With a valuable skill like sewing, these mothers now have an opportunity to provide a good income for themselves and their families. Your gift is helping women like Rani.

When Rani heard about our tailoring school, she immediately applied to be part of the program. She comes for a very poor family, but she had a passion to learn and was very excited to join the class. Her family was very supportive and encouraged her to go to through the tailoring program so she can learn embroidery and sew dresses and other clothes.

Rani graduated after six months of training and learning. She was so excited when the school gave Rani her very own sewing machine. She never expected it and was filled with so much joy.

Rani has one son, and she was so happy that she could provide a better life for him. Every day she works at home on her sewing machine. People in the community often come over and bring her material so she can sew clothes for them. Rani earns a good income and is able to support her whole family.

“Learning how to sew at India Partners’ tailoring school has been a great blessing for me and my family,” says Rani. “I’m able to support them, and every member of my family is very happy about it.”

Rani is very grateful for the generous support of donors like you. Thank you! This was made possible because of you. Your gift makes a difference and it's transforming the lives of women like Rani.

Sincerely,

John Sparks
