Due to severe damage to water infrastructure across many areas in Syria, thousands of families lack access to clean and safe drinking water. In response, Saed Charity implemented a drinking water distribution project to meet the essential needs of the most affected households and reduce health risks associated with unsafe water consumption.
The project targeted displaced families, camp residents, and households suffering from water shortages or the absence of reliable water sources, as well as families living in areas with damaged water networks. Beneficiaries were identified through detailed field assessments considering vulnerability levels and family size, in coordination with local teams.
Project activities included the transportation and distribution of safe drinking water through certified water tankers, in accordance with health standards that ensure water quality and safety. Distribution was organized to ensure fairness and reduce the daily burden on families, particularly women and children.
This humanitarian intervention helped reduce the risk of waterborne diseases, improve public health conditions, and enhance the sense of safety among beneficiary households. It also alleviated financial pressure on families who otherwise would need to purchase water from private sources.
Saed Charity remains committed to implementing water and sanitation projects in Syria and expanding humanitarian responses that uphold human dignity and the right to safe and clean water, with the support of generous donors and partners.
