Displacement camps in Syria continue to suffer from severe shortages of safe drinking water, placing displaced families at constant risk. Weak infrastructure and the absence of reliable water networks have turned access to clean water into a daily struggle, particularly for women and children.
As part of its humanitarian response, Saed Charity launched a clean water delivery project targeting several displacement camps. The project aimed to meet essential water needs while reducing health risks associated with contaminated sources. Water distribution was carried out in a structured and regular manner, taking into account population density and the number of families in each camp.
The project significantly reduced families’ dependence on unsafe or costly water sources and alleviated the physical and emotional burden of securing water each day. Improved access to clean water contributed to better hygiene practices and a noticeable decline in water-related illnesses.
Beyond meeting basic needs, the initiative fostered a sense of solidarity and reassurance among camp residents, reminding them that they are not forgotten. This intervention represents a vital step toward safeguarding public health and improving living conditions within the camps.
Saed Charity remains dedicated to expanding its water programs, recognizing that water is not merely a resource but a lifeline. The success of this project was made possible through the generosity of donors whose support directly helped ease suffering and restore hope.
