The Gaza Strip is facing a severe water crisis that poses a direct threat to civilian lives on a daily basis. Damage to water networks, prolonged electricity outages, and fuel shortages required to operate wells and pumping stations have drastically reduced access to safe drinking water. As a result, thousands of families are forced to rely on unsafe water sources.
This crisis has been further aggravated by high population density and widespread infrastructure destruction, directly impacting public health—particularly among children and the elderly. The lack of clean water has increased the risk of waterborne diseases, including diarrhea and skin infections, amid limited capacity to ensure regular access to potable water.
In response to these urgent needs, Saed Charity implemented humanitarian interventions aimed at improving access to safe and clean water for affected families in the Gaza Strip. These interventions included the distribution of potable drinking water, support for water trucking to severely affected areas, and the provision of water purification supplies to households lacking safe sources.
All distribution activities were conducted in accordance with humanitarian principles, ensuring fairness, dignity, and equitable access. Priority was given to displaced families and communities experiencing near-total disruption of water services. These efforts helped ease daily hardships and improve health and living conditions for thousands of vulnerable households.
Saed Charity reaffirms its commitment to continuing water-related humanitarian assistance in Gaza. By expanding emergency response programs, the organization seeks to protect public health and reduce the severe humanitarian risks associated with the ongoing shortage of clean water.
