Exciting News About Our New Shelter!

We are thrilled to announce that we have finally found the perfect location for our New Shelter! This site meets all our needs and is conveniently located near our hospital compound. Although it has taken longer than we had hoped to reach this point, and there have been a few false starts along the way, we are pleased to share that we have now begun negotiations to purchase the land.

We are so grateful to everyone who has donated and supported our vision of a New Shelter for the animals we care for long-term. One of these animals is Cookie, pictured here looking wistfully out of our dispensary, the area of the hospital where she currently spends her days.

Cookie has been one of our resident shelter dogs for several years. We rescued her after a horrific vehicle accident that severely injured both her hind legs. Thanks to our dedicated care, she survived and healed well, but she suffered irreparable muscle damage. This means that she walks in her own inimitable style – with one of her hind legs held directly out behind her!

As with all our wonderfully quirky shelter dogs, she doesn’t let that get in the way of her living her best life. We simply can’t wait till she and the other wonky shelter dogs like her can enjoy life in their own dog gardens at our New Shelter.

Thank you once again for your support during this exciting new chapter for TOLFA!
