These women gave birth today. In the largest socialized hospital in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The capital. As many as 90 women a day give birth in this hospital. They keep their babies in their recovery beds are usually sent home within 4 hours.
Most of these women are not prepared to care for their children and ill equipped to provide for their needs. It is common in Honduras for many men to abandon their mates after a pregnance occurs. It is not unusual for women to have 3-4 children from different men.
We hope to raise up women and men to bear responsibility for their actions and consequences. We can only do this by paying attention to their needs and educating them in ways to escape this cycle. Join us in changing this cycle.
