As 2016 comes to an end we reflect on our busy year. Somehow in the middle of 5 law enforcement seizures, the birth of 6 foals, countless new horse intakes, fundraisers and moving the training barn we have adopted out 63 horses. That makes us feel better, at least we know we are tired for a darn good reason!
December has decided not to give us too much of a break. Our new training facility continues to make progress but the barn and stalls are not quite completed. Last week’s icy winter blast meant lots of scrambling to get the horses in from the pasture and into make shift stalls in the arena. This week’s forecast looks to call for more of the same.
Currently, we are over half way to our $6,000 pasture shelter goal. Once we have the funds secured, construction will start on a 12’ x 48’ loafing shed that will protect the horses from the notoriously frigid east winds. We are so close to having the infrastructure up and running for the horses that will need us again this winter.
None of this would be possible without amazing supporters such as yourself. May you and your families have the warmest of holidays!
