Snow Receives Some Community Magic

20+ year old Andalusian Mare Snow, was due for a little community magic to make her next few years peaceful and loving.

We took ownership of Snow last week after Law Enforcement suggested that her previous owners contact us. Over the past 6 months, several people called to report Snow in thin condition. Her previous owners were able to put some weight on during that time but could not give her the veterinary and farrier care she needed.

Snow’s bloodwork is still within normal limits, but both hind suspensory ligaments are starting to degenerate. She has loss of range of motion in both knees but seems happy and sound in the pasture. She has come mild vision loss in both eyes and will be getting a dental soon. Basically, she is an old, well used horse that is now just a love magnet.

Snow is a doll. She trots up to meet you at feeding time and follows you around the pasture. Her days of being a ridding horse are over, but her current foster home is already considering adopting her! We will do our best to make her golden years happy until she becomes uncomfortable.

Thanks to donors like you, we are able to open up that safety net to a horse that has willingly given her all to people.
