Give Kids in Angola Access to Education!

Greetings-

More kids are in school because of your support and generosity. Education matters, and every child should have the chance to go to school. The construction of a 6-classroom school at Lalula continues, and will accomodate about 600 students upon completion. However, this is a place where there are over 6000 children, with many "in class" outside, in front of a chalkboard against the wall or under tin roofing. It is difficult to concentrate, and if there is rain or cold, there is no class, highlighting the immense ongoing need. The Lalula Principal is a strong leader, the teachers are inspiring, and the parents and community are committed to the education of their children, amid very challenging circumstances. RISE leadership and building teams are dedicated and skilled, and are grateful for the provision of jobs.

Raising funds to give more kids access to education is ongoing. GlobalGiving hosts several campaigns annually, providing matching funds, which multiply the impact of your gifts. Most recently in April, all donations up to $50 were matched at 50% during the Little x Little Campaign, increasing each gift to RISE - we received $262 in matching funds! The next matching campaign will be the July 12th Bonus Day.

On a trip to Angola in March, students, parents, communities, teachers, principals, and administrators expressed their excitement and gratitude for the gift of schools and access to education. Thank you for making a difference!
