Thank you for your support of kids in Angola, giving more children access to education! Many of you gave on GlobalGiving's July Bonus Day, multiplying your gifts - $6,350 was donated with $1740 in matching funds, totaling $8,090! Your participation and generosity result in a tangible difference in the lives and future of Angolan students and their families.
RISE is currently raising money to complete a school at the village of Canjala. There are hundreds of kids "in class" under trees, as well as some in a dilapidated mud structure… when there is rain, wind, or cold, students go home. The local Administrator approached RISE requesting that we partner to build a 7-classroom school to begin to meet the need in the area. The school will give about 700 children access to education in a safe, protected space, attending in two shifts per day. The site was cleared and construction began, while funds for the project continue to be raised.
GivingTuesday is December 1st, and GlobalGiving will offer $1,000,000 in Incentive Funds. Donations up to $2,000 per unique donor per organization will be eligible, and gifts will be proportionally matched at the end of the day.
