Greetings-
Thank you for supporting RISE, for giving financially, for participating in the Little x Little Campaign, and for generously investing in the lives of kids in Angola. Every child has the right to education, and yet over two milliion primary-age children meet in dilapidated rooms, under trees, or have no school at all. Most are vulnerable and marginalized, live in poverty, and face multiple barriers to education.
RISE builds primary schools in rural Angola to educate children, empower communities, and contribute to the rebuilding of the country. Since 2003, RISE has built 198 schools, which give over 144,000 children access to education each year. Though many challenges remain, the ongoing impact is significant, and has been achieved through the participation and commitment of schools, churches, clubs, individuals, and groups working together, in the U.S. and in Angola. The efforts are broad and varied, and have touched many lives. Students, families, and communities are very grateful - they no longer feel forgotten!
In July, UN Secretary-General António Guterres stated, “Education is the single-most important investment any country can make. There is no better definition of sustainable development and no better pathway to realize this ambition than by educating every child.” Thanks for your part!
