Dear Supporters,
Greetings from Bihar , in India.
Firstly let me tell you about that most important phenomenon in India- the monsoon after deficient rains the rains have a sting in the tail and are still continuing now when they should have abated. This is helping farmers.
But food inflation remains a huge problem. Regular recipients of this project progress report will know we have discussed this problem in the past but it is true even basic foodstuffs are becoming too expensive for the poor. We have also talked about the very real problem of malnutrition particularly amongst children.
Please take a moment to look at this BBC report,

So this is the problem.
But I am happy to report that even in the heavy rains not a single meal was missed and we ensured the supplies reached the often isolated villages. Due to your support we can avoid the scenes shown on the BBC report. In addition, we can continue this important programme that reaches those most in need, everything we receive from Global Giving goes towards providing the children food.
Just a reminder Global Giving are matching donations on October 17th at up to 30%
Thank you for your wonderful support,
Neelam
