Give street children in Burundi a future

David, a 17-year-old boy, became the victim of a tragic hit-and-run accident a few months ago. The accident left him with his leg broken in two places, placing his future mobility at serious risk. Medical assessments confirmed that without urgent surgical intervention, he might never walk again.

At that moment, the road ahead seemed long, uncertain, and almost impossible.

Through the generous support of partners and donors, the required funds were mobilized in time for David to receive the life-changing surgery he urgently needed. The operation was successfully performed, followed by a structured rehabilitation process to help him regain strength and mobility. This timely intervention prevented long-term disability and restored hope to David and those around him.

Although David is currently using crutches as part of his recovery process, his physical improvement is evident. More importantly, his confidence and spirit have been restored.

David has been a street-connected child since his parents passed away when he was only seven years old.

Today, David can dream again! His focus has shifted from hospital visits to a new, inspiring goal: acquiring the skills he needs to support and uplift other vulnerable children. David’s journey is a powerful testimony to hope and positive transformation.
