Happy New Year from all of us at Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation. We want to, in a special way thank you immensely for your kindness and generosity to our project. Thanks for your support which has helped us impact many lives in our community. We do not take your donations for granted at all, it is gratefully appreciated. The people whom we are helping through your generosity extend their heart of appreciation to you too.
Contributions like yours are continuing to make a difference. They are supporting Sam Onyemaechi humanitarian Foundation's response efforts and delivering crucial help and hope to people in need amid hostilities, constant stress, and difficult conditions away from home.
Besides, on the 21st of October 2022, Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation received a grant of $20 000 through GlobalGiving from one of their corporate partners, Corteva, to Fight hunger and insecurity in Southeast, Nigeria.
We cannot but express our sincere heart of appreciation for your generosity towards our cause to, "GIVE SUCCOUR & REFUGE TO THE POOR AND HOMELESS".
We made an effort to diversify this grant received to make sure that all aspects that affect food insecurity and hunger that bedeviled rural communities are touched. We tried our best to educate the indigents and Less privileged rural communities on the need to be self reliance and to utilize every opportunity to be independent of themselves, to start a small and medium size business so as to eke out a living rather than always depending on already caught fish but find a way to catch the fish themselves. Majority of them have shown interest to learn skills that will better their standard of living.
We channeled this grant into our project causes, we tried to make sure that this grant is used judiciously in all areas to fight hunger and food insecurity and to enhance their living standard.
We procured Equipment for food processing and packaging and this received the greater chunk of the grant. We discovered that buying more equipment for food processing and packaging machines will benefit a lot from the sustainability and financial stability of the organization. Whatever the proceeds, will be channeled towards fighting hunger and food insecurity, not just for a month but all through the years. We used 35% of the grant in providing some of the equipment needed to produce more food so as to fight hunger and food insecurity in the southeast. Though we still need more equipment for greater production and output.
The major challenges we face in our project management is occasioned by poor funding, inadequate equipment to execute the projects, absence of technical expertise, economic and political instability and environmental . All these contribute to delaying our performance in our humanitarian services.
The major problems that have been identified in the course of our community outreach in many rural areas are poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, homelessness, crime, social evils, lower living standards, lack of facilities, services, and health.
All these are attributed to; Low Agricultural Production, unemployment, economic Depression and Inadequate Development, lack of Sufficient Housing, faults in the Education System, joint Family System, Caste System and Religious Beliefs, colonial Rule, sickness and Mental Ill-Health.
Below is how we receive money and how it was used.
