Tahanan ng Pagmamahal currently has forty-three (43) children. They are provided with nutritious meals, snacks, and milk (twice) daily, for older children agesd three to twelve receiving these benefits. Infants and toddlers, especially those who are not yet weaned, have more frequent milk feedings. To further boost their immune systems, all the kids are given daily multivitamins and extra vitamin C.
The majority of the kids are healthy. Out of the forty-three (43), only nine (9) of them received medical treatment. One of the nine kids is a newly admitted four month old baby who was found to be malnourished and diagnosed with pneumonia. He has fully recovered and improved, gaining weight since then. Six (6) children were treated for bronchitis, cough and colds. Two kids were diagnosed with club feet. A one-year-old and a seven (7) month old baby successfully completed the tenotomy procedures and casting of their club feet. The one year old toddler now wears special shoes to aid in the development of the muscles of his foot.
Six (6) children aged two to five years old are still undergoing occupational therapy. They have shown improvements in the way they play, interact and follow instructions from the house parents. They have exhibited independence in doing things by themselves and have shown that they are coping well. Four of them attend day care school regularly.
To further protect the children, both guests and kids are required to wear face masks as part of the health protocols during outreach activities.
