By Cora Sayre | Project Leader
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous donation to provide goats to poor farming families here. This reporting period we were able to provide 12 young goats to 12 farming families in our project area in Polanco, Zamboanga del Norte. All the goats are females and it is expected that the beneficiaries will "pass-on" 2 offspring to their neighbors on a "pass-on-the-gift" basis. In this way the project will sustain on and on. Our problem right now is the severe drought caused by El Nino. There is no rain since 4 months ago and we train the goat recipients to feed their goats on cut and carry method or getting leaves from goat edible plants such as leucaena and madre de cacao and feed this to their goats. These plants survive long dry spell.
We like this project so much because the goats are easy to take care, do not require purchased feeds and the females are prolific and provide offpsring on a regular basis.
Again, thank you very much for your generous support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora Sayre
