Hello Israel Aquarium Supporters!
Since we last reported to you, we are still operating the running-in period completing our animal collection and perfecting our working systems and procedures. During this period, the Aquarium is open to the public on the basis of scheduled guided tours only which must be arranged in advance via our website.
The tours have a strong educational component, given that this is the main goal of our project, and introduce visitors to the necessity of conserving our local marine environments. Some of the added educational elements available to visitors include:
- Colorful and engaging educational signage in three languages (Hebrew, Arabic and English)
- Touch screens with information about all of the species in the Aquarium
- Educational films about the making of the Aquarium and the philosophy behind it; ocean currents, coral reefs and the Suez Canal
- A temporary exhibition about local efforts to save the Mediterranean Sea by our partner organization, EcoOcean
- YouTube videos and Facebook posts to engage visitors even after they have left the Aquarium to continue to do their part toward saving our precious aquatic habitats
Thank you for your continued support which is so very much appreciated!
