The Aquarium has had a busy summer with record numbers of visitors who enjoyed escaping the heat of the Jerusalem summer in the cool calmness of the Aquarium.
The dedicated Aquarium staff have been working hard over the past few months and we were excited to learn that one of our volunteers, Azgad Yeshoua, was awarded an Award of Excellence from the President of Israel.
Only 24 out of 18,000 National Service volunteers receive this award every year.
Azgad has been volunteering for two years at the Aquarium as part of his National Service working as a group guide.
He assists in guide training and initiates the preparation of new materials and information on the fish, as well as innovating fresh activity ideas. He is always willing to help other guides and fill in for them when they are unavailable or ill, and helps his colleagues in many different ways. He always receives fantastic visitor reviews and is often requested by groups.
Shai Ben Ami, the Aquarium's Education Director accompanyed Azgad to the ceremony at the President's Residence.
Congratulations Azgad!
